PUEOQUI means “to begin” in the Shipibo-Conibo language — a fitting name for the first collection by Peruvian fashion designer Ani Álvarez-Calderón, marking the start of a creative collaboration dedicated to preserving the ancestral art of Kene textiles through timeless fashion.

Launched in 2020, this collection symbolizes the union between Ani, her daughter Arianne Carrillo, and a collective of Shipibo-Conibo artists. Together, they embarked on a shared journey to honor, sustain, and reimagine traditional artistry — transforming heritage into wearable works of art.
